Sectional Blackglama Mink Cape

This 37-inch long sectional Blackglama Mink cape features open short sleeves, German hook closures, dual pockets, a shirt collar with embedded wire stays, a decorative button and a polyester liner throughout.

In 1968, amidst global upheaval, Great Lakes Mink Association farmers focused on producing top-quality dark mink. Unaware, they sparked a revolutionary marketing campaign. They hired a New York ad agency, which suggested the name BLACKGLAMA. To showcase the mink’s luxury, they featured iconic women like Judy Garland adorned in Blackglama coats, photographed by Richard Avedon, with the slogan “What Becomes A Legend Most?” (blackglama.org, 2025).
